In Zodiac Signs Part 1 the primary qualities and the modes were described, and their combination was used to show the unique interpretations for each sign.
In Zodiac Signs Part 2 the zodiac sign rulers were combined together with the primary qualities and modes, providing a fuller understanding for each zodiac sign.

In this Part 3, a brief description is provided for each sign, combining the primary qualities with the modes and indications from the ruling planet.

MarsAries is a hot dry (fire) sign. Its heat shows its active creativity and its dryness its desire to act independently. Its cardinal mode adds a pro-active nature to its active pursuits.
Mars is the ruler of Aries and represents courage, the action of cutting and thrusting, sharp things, war, strife, divorce, rape and violence. Its positive action represents standing up to the bully, asserting one’s needs, having the courage to move forward and take the next step. Its glyph is phallic in appearance.

Taurus is a cold dry (earth) sign. Its coldness shows its passive nature and its dryness its desire to stand alone.  Its fixed mode adds endurance and determination to these qualities. Venus, the planet of pleasure and sensuality, rules Taurus, and describes some of its strongest motivations.

Gemini is a hot moist (air) sign. Moistness shows the need to connect with others, and the heat shows the outgoing interactive nature. Its mutable mode adds versatility and a capacity to adapt to circumstances. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is the planet of reasoning, mental dexterity, and communication. It is the perfect fit for Gemini and highlights the ability of planets in this sign to use reasoning and communication to fulfil their mission.

Cancer is a cold wet (water) sign. Its coldness shows its passive receptiveness and its moisture the desire to connect with others. Its cardinal mode adds a pro-active nature in seeking connections with others. The Moon rules Cancer and its association with women, all things female, the home and children, as well as liquids shows that planets passing through this sign or placed in the natal chart in Cancer are concerned with protection and security, and emotional connection.

Saturn‘s rulership over Aquarius shows why the constant outpouring of ideas does not always result in complete chaos, as it adds a sense of boundaries while at the same time directing its alternative ideas into productive social enterprises.

Pisces is a cold wet (water) sign. Its coldness shows its passive receptiveness and its moisture its desire to connect with others. Its mutable mode adds versatility and a capacity to blend with its surroundings. The rulership of idealistic Jupiter over Pisces explains the aspirations and idealism expressed by many who were born under the sign of the fish. Planets in Pisces take on this more idealistic expression, sometimes with less consideration for practical realities.
